Artist's Comments

This was an interesting picture to work on, and very experimental. I don't usually work with light sources, and I had two in here. Also, this picture was worked in CMYK mode as opposed to RGB. I don't know if I really did the drawing justice in Photoshop, but I'm glad its done. Let me know what you think- I'm pretty sure there are plenty of errors in there.

hrrm. I like it. For advice on coloring light sources and what not ~ I know that some light is simply just white ... but artistically, I find it's easier to think of the light source as being either cool or warm. There's so much more opportunity for depth.

Dunno about the gray background, either. I think I would prefer it if it went with him more. Another shade of brown, maybe? He and the bg might look like they exist in the same universe that way.

I don't know why more people don't were crotch sashes. I want one. I'd wear it to the park. 8D

mmm... yeah, you make a good point about the light and the background. Maybe the reason I thought to use while light was because of the lightening, but I really should've experimented with it a bit more. I'll probably go back to the picture and make some changes. As for the background, that's due to me not being able to think of anything else, again, I'm probably going to go back to this. Thank you for the critiques.

lol, you should draw one of your characters in a crotch sash, they'd look sexy

thank you ^_^ I'm probably going to open this one again in Photoshop and see what I can do, because I know there's some stuff that doesn't look right.

but thank you, glad you like it :D

Wicked cool pic, Sonja! The lighting effects in his hands look great! Since someone mentioned the background, perhaps you could've put him on a tower or in a magic lab or something? I mean, it's clear he's working on some magic, so that kind of background would make sense. Just saying.
